Event Round Details

Description

Two teams will be given the same biomedical equipment or product name. They will be allotted three minutes of preparation time to understand the product and develop a creative marketing pitch. Following the pitch, each team will have the opportunity to question the opposing team about the product and its value. Marks will be awarded based on creativity, marketing skills, clarity of communication, and the ability to respond effectively to questions.

Rules
  • Both teams will be given the same biomedical equipment or product name.
  • Teams will be allotted three minutes of preparation time.
  • Teams must use the preparation time to understand the product and develop a creative marketing pitch.
  • Each team will present their marketing pitch within the time limit specified by the organizers.
  • The pitch should highlight the product's features, applications, advantages, and value.
  • After both teams have presented, each team will get an opportunity to question the opposing team about the product.
  • Teams must answer questions clearly, confidently, and appropriately.
  • Questions and answers must remain relevant to the given biomedical equipment or product.
  • Teams must not interrupt, deliberately distract, or interfere with the opposing team's presentation.
  • Marks will be awarded based on creativity, marketing skills, clarity of communication, product understanding, and ability to respond effectively to questions.
Tie Breaker

In case of a tie, both teams will be given a new biomedical product or equipment name with a shorter preparation time. The team delivering the most creative and convincing pitch while responding effectively to the questions will be ranked higher.

Description

Each team will be shown an image of a biomedical equipment for 1 minute and must carefully observe and memorize it. After the image is hidden, the team must assemble a 32-piece jigsaw puzzle depicting the same equipment. Teams will have 3 lifelines, with each lifeline allowing the equipment image to be displayed for 15 seconds. Only one designated team member can physically arrange the puzzle, while the other members may provide verbal guidance. The team that completes the puzzle correctly in the shortest time will secure the highest score.

Rules
  • The biomedical equipment image will be displayed for 1 minute before the puzzle begins.
  • Teams must carefully observe and memorize the equipment during the viewing time.
  • After 1 minute, the image will be hidden and the team must assemble the puzzle from memory.
  • Each team will receive 3 lifelines, with each lifeline providing 15 seconds of image viewing.
  • The timer will continue running while a lifeline is being used.
  • Only one designated team member is allowed to physically arrange the puzzle pieces.
  • Other team members may guide and assist verbally but cannot touch the pieces.
  • Mobile phones, internet, photographs, or external references are not allowed.
  • Teams must use only the puzzle pieces provided and must not exchange pieces with other teams.
  • The puzzle must be completely and correctly assembled for the time to be considered.
  • The team must notify the coordinator immediately after completing the puzzle.
Tie Breaker

If two or more teams complete the puzzle in the same time, a rapid biomedical equipment identification round will be conducted. The tied teams will be shown an equipment image for 10 seconds, followed by a biomedical question, and the team giving the first correct answer will win the tie-breaker.

Description

Teams will be shown three clinical scenario images or short video clips, such as cardiac arrest or accident scenarios. Within 15 seconds, the first team to press the buzzer must list five appropriate biomedical devices or equipment relevant to the given condition. Points will be awarded based on speed, accuracy, and relevance. The final winner will be decided based on the cumulative score from all three rounds.

Rules
  • Three clinical scenarios will be presented to the teams through images or short video clips.
  • Teams must carefully observe the complete scenario before attempting to answer.
  • The buzzer can be pressed only after the complete scenario has been displayed.
  • Pressing the buzzer before the scenario is completed will result in a penalty/disqualification for that question.
  • The team that presses the buzzer first will get the opportunity to answer.
  • The team must provide five biomedical devices/equipment appropriate to the given clinical condition within 15 seconds.
  • All answers must be relevant and appropriate to the clinical scenario to receive points.
  • Repeated answers will not be considered for scoring.
  • Once a team has pressed the buzzer, the question cannot be passed by that team. They must attempt an answer.
  • If the first team gives an incorrect or incomplete answer, the opportunity will be passed to the next team that pressed the buzzer.
  • Teams must not shout answers, interrupt, or interfere with another team's response. Any such interference may lead to deduction of points.
Tie Breaker

In case of a tie, an additional clinical scenario will be given. The team providing the fastest and most accurate response will be ranked higher.
