BOOM BOOM ROBO DA — IT technical event at Invente '26IT

BOOM BOOM ROBO DA

Get ready for an action-packed technical treasure hunt that blends Computer Vision, IoT, puzzles, and DIY robotics into one thrilling challenge. Teams will navigate through multiple technical stations, solving challenges to earn robot components required for the final showdown. Each round tests problem-solving, observation, logical thinking, and teamwork, with every victory bringing teams one step closer to building their robot. The event culminates in a hands-on line-following robot race where speed, precision, and strategy determine the champion.

Event Round Details

Description

Teams must decode a Morse code sequence using a pressure-sensitive interface to reveal a clue. Using this clue, teams must locate a hidden QR code camouflaged among colorful visual distractions, identifying it through computer vision-based color filtering. The QR code reveals a color-and-shape cipher, which teams must decode to unlock the vault. Successfully completing the round earns the team a pass and a clue to Round 2.

Rules
  • Teams must begin the round in the main hall.
  • The Morse code decoding task must be completed inside the hall before collecting the external clue.
  • Teams may leave the hall only to search for the hidden QR code, using the clue obtained from the Morse decode.
  • CV-based color filtering for the QR hunt must be performed inside the hall.
  • The color-and-shape cipher must be decoded inside the hall.
  • The vault unlock must be completed inside the hall upon solving the cipher.
  • Time will be recorded upon successful completion of the round.
  • Teams must follow all instructions provided by the event coordinators.
Tie Breaker

A short additional CV-based challenge will be conducted.

Description

Teams will diagnose a simulated IoT system fault using sensor readings and threshold-based logic. They must analyze the given readings, identify the faulty condition, and determine the correct solution/code. Successful teams receive components required for the final round.

Rules
  • Sensor analysis and logical reasoning must be performed inside the hall.
  • Teams may leave the hall only to collect the designated clue.
  • The final solution and code must be submitted inside the hall.
  • Teams must not access or modify hardware before qualifying for the final round.
  • Completion time will be recorded after the correct solution is submitted.
  • Only teams that successfully clear the round will proceed to the final selection.
Tie Breaker

A short sensor-logic challenge will be conducted to determine the qualifying order.

Description

The top five teams will exchange their three Robot Part Passes for the hardware components collected throughout the event. Using the provided components and a step-by-step assembly guide, teams will build a DIY line-following robot without soldering. The completed robots will then compete on progressively challenging tracks, testing speed, precision, and navigation. The team that performs best across the final race stages will be crowned the Boom Boom Robo Da Champion.

Rules
  • Only the Top 5 teams from Round 2 will qualify for the final.
  • Teams must assemble the robot using only the components provided by the organizers.
  • No soldering or external hardware modifications are permitted.
  • The final begins with a time-trial seeding round.
  • The top performers will advance to knockout duels on progressively tougher tracks.
  • Robot performance will be evaluated based on speed and accuracy.
  • In case of a tie, a surprise mini-challenge will be conducted.
  • The organizers' decision regarding race outcomes is final and binding
Tie Breaker
