The tournament is conducted in knockout format. All matches are played offline using chess boards, with players paired through a random draw; the winner of each match advances to the next round. Each player has 5 minutes for the entire game; the player whose time runs out first loses, subject to standard chess rules. Pre-registration and spot registration are both available, and the final knockout bracket is prepared after registration closes; byes may be given where necessary.

• Players must carry a valid college ID card for verification, if required.
• The touch-move rule will be followed during gameplay.
• Players must press the chess clock immediately after completing their move.
• Participants must not disturb, distract, or communicate with other players while matches are in progress.
• Any form of unfair play, outside assistance, or intentional misconduct may result in disqualification.
• Participants who fail to appear when their match is called may be declared absent and eliminated.
• Only authorized event coordinators or arbiters may intervene during an ongoing match.
• Any objection regarding a match must be raised before the next round begins.
• The decision of the event coordinator/arbiter will be final and binding.

If a match ends in a draw, a 3-minute tiebreaker game will be played. If the tiebreaker is also drawn, another tiebreaker will be conducted until a winner is decided.
