Enigma is AECE's flagship Cryptography and Network Security challenge, designed to test participants' knowledge of cryptographic concepts, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. This two-round technical challenge takes teams through a series of cryptic puzzles, encryption tasks, and security-based challenges, culminating in the decryption of a hidden message using the Enigma cipher. Event Heads

The duration of this round is 40 minutes. Topics covered include logical reasoning, basic science and mathematics, data interpretation, basic programming, Boolean algebra, computational thinking, and tech trivia. It is a two-section challenge: Section 1 features 30 technical MCQs, and Section 2 features mind-bending tech puzzles.
- Do's:
- All team members must be present at the venue before the round begins.
- Teams must attempt both sections of the round.
- Teams must submit their answers before the allotted time expires.
- Read each question carefully and mark only the intended answer.
- Follow the instructions given by the event heads and coordinators throughout the round.
- Don'ts:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, or any other electronic devices are strictly prohibited during the round.
- Do not use the internet, calculators, notes, books, or any external reference material.
- Do not communicate with or seek answers from other teams.
- Do not exchange question papers, answer sheets, or any other material with other teams.
- Any form of malpractice or unfair means will result in immediate disqualification.
In the event of a tie, a surprise round will be conducted to determine the advancing team. The team to make the earlier submission shall also be considered to qualify for the next round.
The duration of this round is 60 minutes. Teams will face three progressively challenging puzzles where every solution holds a piece of a larger mystery. Concepts from cryptography, logical reasoning, and Computer and Network Security will guide teams through a trail of encoded clues and hidden patterns. As the challenges unfold, teams must connect the information they uncover and use it to reveal the final message.
- Do's:
- Do work collaboratively and use logical reasoning to connect the clues obtained from each challenge.
- Do record and preserve the information obtained from each solved puzzle.
- Do submit the final answer to the event heads for verification.
- Don'ts:
- Don't use mobile phones or any unauthorized external resources during the round.
- Don't seek or share answers with other teams.
- Don't attempt to bypass or tamper with the tools or systems provided for the challenge.
A rapid-fire Cryptography round will be conducted.
