MindMarket — CSE non-technical event at Invente '26CSE (SSN)

MindMarket

MindMarket is a four-round interactive team-based event that combines real-world trading, luck-based challenges, networking, negotiation, clue exchange and investigation. Teams begin with a simple safety pin and attempt to trade it for increasingly valuable items. The points earned are then used in luck-based mini-games and challenges to obtain clues and advantages. Teams interact, negotiate and exchange information with one another before entering the final round, where they must use the clues they have gathered to complete a final challenge. The event focuses on communication, teamwork, observation, decision-making and adaptability in a fun and unconventional format.

Description

Fortune favors the fearless. Spin wheels. Roll dice. Chase lucky draws. Every point you earned is now a bet waiting to happen - win big and unlock clues no one else has. Then work the room, trade whispers, and figure out who really knows what. High risk, higher clout. Are you feeling lucky?

Everyone's playing an angle. Are you? Welcome to the underground. Clue auctions, Split-or-Steal showdowns, NPC hustles, shady alliances - this is where trust becomes a weapon and every handshake could be a setup. One wrong move and the finale slips through your fingers. Deal smart. Deal ruthless. Deal like it's the only round that matters.

Rules

Description

This is what you've been building toward. Every trade, every bet, every clue — it all funnels into this. One case. One shot. Your squad, your instincts, no help, no devices, no mercy. Crack it first, or watch someone else take the glory. One pin started it. One win ends it. Make it count.

  • All three members must remain together during the final challenge.
  • Teams cannot communicate with other teams once the final round begins.

Codolympics

About the event

Codolympics is a two-round flagship competitive programming event of the CSE Department. In the first round, participants take on logical puzzles to solve and solution hacking, where the goal is to break a given solution by finding the input it fails on. The second round is an auction-driven problem-solving contest: contestants bid for the problems they want using a limited pool of coins, earn points by solving what they buy, and spend their remaining balance on hints, shields and sabotages against rivals. Participants will be tested on skills such as data structures and algorithms, problem-solving speed, edge-case analysis and strategic decision-making under limited resources.
