SOLDER-IT — ECE technical event at Invente '26ECE

SOLDER-IT

SOLDER IT is where electronics moves from theory to the workbench. Put your circuit knowledge, soldering skills, and problem-solving abilities to the test as you build, troubleshoot, and bring circuits to life. From assembling a given circuit on a perf board to creating your own IoT-based prototype, every round challenges you to think on your feet and build with precision. Grab your components, fire up your creativity, and let's see what those hands can build.

Event Round Details

Description

Participants will be provided with a circuit and the required components, which they must analyze, assemble, and solder onto a perf board within the given time. The circuit will be evaluated primarily on functionality, followed by soldering quality and neatness.

Rules
  • All components required for the circuit will be provided by the organizers.
  • Participants must assemble and solder the given circuit on the provided perf board within 60 minutes.
  • Participants may not replace or modify the given components unless permitted by the organizers.
  • The circuit must be tested and submitted within the allotted time.
  • Only circuits that are functional and safely assembled will be considered for scoring.
Tie Breaker

Completion time will be considered as a tie-breaker.

Description

Shortlisted teams will be provided with a microcontroller and a set of sensors, and must develop a functional IoT-based project; participants are required to bring their own laptops. Projects will be evaluated based on functionality, sensor–microcontroller integration, innovation, and implementation quality.

Rules
  • Shortlisted teams will be provided with a microcontroller and a set of sensors by the organizers.
  • Participants must bring their own laptops and may use software/tools required for development.
  • Teams must design and build an IoT-based project using the components provided.
  • Only work carried out during the allotted 60 minutes will be considered for evaluation.
  • Teams must demonstrate their working prototype to the judges within the given time.
  • Additional components may not be used unless explicitly permitted by the organizers
Tie Breaker

Effective and innovative use of the available components considered as a tie-breaker.
