SURVIVAL OF TARS — EEE technical event at Invente '26EEE

SURVIVAL OF TARS

Survival of TARS is a practical technical challenge that tests participants on circuit debugging, component selection, hands-on circuit building, energy auditing, and creative engineering problem-solving. The event progresses from technical troubleshooting to an energy-auditing challenge followed by a technical pitch. Participants are evaluated on accuracy, practical skills, logical thinking, creativity, and communication.

Event Round Details

Description

Participants will be given a circuit in a simulation environment with one or more intentional faults. They will be given the expected output or required behaviour, but the fault will not be directly identified. Participants must: analyse the circuit, identify the possible fault, make the required correction, and verify the output through simulation.

Rules
  • Evaluation based on Time and correctness.
Description

Participants will randomly receive a basic circuit through a physical spin wheel. A collection of electronic components will be provided. Participants must identify and select the correct components and build the allotted circuit on a breadboard. They must: identify the required components and values, select the correct components, build the circuit, power and test it safely, and demonstrate the expected output.

Description

Participants will be given a simulated real-world energy scenario, such as a household or small electrical system. The scenario may include different loads, energy sources, power ratings, and operating conditions. They should perform basic energy auditing and propose solutions to improve the energy utilization.
